It is with great sadness that the family of Alyssa Reighn Quewezance announce that she has lost her battle with cancer, and she has begun her journey.
Alyssa was born in Saskatoon, SK, The daughter of Bernard and Nadine Quewezance. Alyssa lived on Keeseekoose First Nation, where she completed full requirements for graduation on June 2017 at Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre. Alyssa was the valedictorian of the graduating class of 2107. Alyssa envisioned big dreams and high expectations for herself, she continued on with her educational goals by attending the University of Saskatchewan to become a lawyer. She went through life with a bright attitude and positive outlook on life. Alyssa loved her cat Fergus, and her betta fish Midnight. She also enjoyed playing sports like volleyball & badminton. Alyssa loved physical activity such as working out and keeping fit. She loved cooking,reading, listening to music and visiting with family and friends.
Alyssa was predeceased by her grandparents; George and Sylvia Kakakaway, grandmother; Vickie Shingoose , older sister; Olivia Dawn Kakakaway, baby sister; Aleaha Chantelle Quewezance.
Alyssa leaves to mourn her passing: parents; Bernard and Nadine Quewezance, brothers; Ethan, Theoren, B.J, Gabe, Tyler Quewezance, sister; Twyla Kakakaway, grandmothers; Barbara Whitehawk, Regina Shingoose, Brenda (Dave) Kakakaway, Connie (Raymond) Shingoose and Linda Baldhead, grandfathers; Downey Shingoose, Norman (Dick) Shingoose, Mike and Bobby Quewezance, aunties; Tania, Candace, Cindy, Twyla, Roxanne, Isabelle, Loretta, Leona, Vonda, uncles; Terry, Michael, Alex, Greg, Patrick, David Cote, Clinton Key as well as numerous relatives too numerous to mention.
A traditional wake was held on Friday, August 16, 2019 from the Keeseekoose Chiefs Educational Complex.
A traditional service and final viewing was held from Keeseekoose Chiefs Educational Complex on Saturday, August 17, 2019 with a procession to St Philips Roman Catholic Church .
A funeral mass was held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 also from The St Philips Roman Catholic Church.
Interment followd at the Keeseekoose Traditional Cemetery.
