Barbara Devine Severight passed away at the age of 32 years on Oct 6, 2017  in Regina, Saskatchewan.

A traditional wake was held on Friday, Oct 13, 2017 from the Cote First Nation Band Hall

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, Oct 14, 2017 also from the Cote First Nation Band Hall

Interment  followed at the Cote First Nation Cemetery. 

Barb was predeceased by: Grandparents: Margaret Nippi and George Littlewolf, Virginia Severight and John Thomas Quewezance. Her ad Kenneth Severight, Uncle Rodney Nippi, her son Bradley-Jay Severight / Kitchemonia, nephew George Alfred Severight-Lerat.

Barb is survived by: Mother Georgina Severight, Children Kenton William Severight, Siblings: Virginia Severight, Kenneth John Ray Severight, Nieces she took as her own daughters: Gabriel (Bug Eyes) Lerat, Kendra Severight. Barbara’s Babies (First Cousins): Conrad Nippi and Angel Nippi Her Dad’s Sisters: Wanda Cote and Angeline Severight who continued to pass the knowledge of their brother. Barb’s cousins whom she took as brothers: William Whitehawk, Steven Cote, Houston Kakakaway. Barbara’s aunts and uncle from both sides she was close to them all, including all her cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Barb was such a loving and caring person to all she knew. She was very outgoing and friendly to people. Barb loved to talk and connect with people. She made many friends throughout her life in return gave her compliments referred to their friendships. .  As a child Barb was very talkative and cute. She was favored by many relatives, always getting money or candy.  She was always Daddy’s girl. Barb and Mom had such a strong a love they would argue then just like nothing happened Barb would say “Mother” (always in this certain tone). Barb and her sister were five years apart, due to their age difference Virginia didn’t like her sister Barb tagging along with her. Until Barb became a teenager is when her and Virginia were able to begin their relationship. Barb and Virginia began their lives together. Both were very close that Barb told Virginia “No one fights you, only I can fight fight you”. Unexpectedly a blessing came 10 years later Kenneth John Ray was born. Barb was always the baby and even though she loved her baby brother he was competition. Until her Brother became a teenager they started their close relationship. Then the 3 siblings became unbreakable. The 3 had their scraps and arguments but in always in the end we never left each other’s side. The 3 stood together, loved, cared and were very protective of each other.

Barb had such a caring and loving heart when it came to children. Barb had the opportunity to live and help care for Uncle Rodney’s babies Conrad and Angel who were her first babies.  Virginia’s first baby was a stillborn. Barb offered if her sister could not have babies she would have one for her. Barb did not have to do that because her first Niece came along. Barb’s very own special baby Gabriel came into her life. Barb always took the time to spend with Gabriel. Their relationship grew from Auntie to Mother and Best Friend. Barb was blessed with another niece Kendra Dawn. Barb’s lil boss baby. One year later Barbara was truly blessed with her Son Kenton William (Sugar Bear). Barb loved Kenton with her all her knowing and being. Barb was blessed to be with Kenton for 8 years.
