Emil Hudema

Emil Hudema of Kamsack and  formerly of Pelly, SK passed away at the age of 93 years on November 6, 2018 at the Kamsack Hospital.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 10, 2018  from the Pelly Community Centre. 

Interment  followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack. 

Emil was born on August 9, 1925 to Fred and Ann Hudema in Hyas , SK. He grew up there and attended school in the district.

On June 2, 1946 Emil married Anne in St Philips Church. Their union was blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter. They farmed north of Pelly for many years and eventually moved to town.

Emil loved all sports and especially watching the Blue Jays. At a younger age he played as back catcher for a fastball team in Toronto. No glove. He continued playing ball in Pelly and was also an avid curler playing in many bonspiels in the Pelly area.

Emil enjoyed carpentry and kept busy with projects around the house. He loved music and played his harmonica at all family get togethers.

Anne and Emil attended many dances & often got together with family & friends to play cards.

Emil will be remembered by his three children, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Dave Hudema of Leduc, AB and family, Tricia Hudema and David Hudema and his children Kaitlyn, Aaron and Danica, Debbie (Wade) Seversen of West Kelowna ,BC and family, Jason and Michelle Seversen, Terry (Wendy) Hudema of Edmonton, AB and family, Justin Hudema (Angeline) and their daughter Kianna, Chelsea Hudema, Nathan Hudema, Dylan Hudema, Ron Hudema’s  children,  Lori Hudema McEachern and family, Hayden and Katie, Ronnie (Lisa) Hudema and family, Justin and Kaylee, Kristen Nagy (Chris) and daughter Huxlie, Taylor Sveinson.

He was predeceased by his wife Anne, son; Ron Hudema, Daughter-in-law, Lorraine Hudema, parents; Fred and Ann Hudema.
