A Wake was held on Friday June 22,2018 from the Keeseekoose Chief's Educational Complex.
A Funeral was held on Saturday June 23, 2018 from the Keeseekoose Chief's Educational Complex.
Internment was at the Keeseekoose Traditional Cemetery
Joseph Edward Quewezance “Bertie” was born in Kamsack on Jan 3, 1949. He was educated at St. Philip’s Residential School. He married Judy Cote on Oct 4,1969. Throughout his life he worked as a Carpenter, Farmer, Band Councilor, Youth Worker, Hunter, Mechanic, and Horse Trainer. His most passionate job was working for God.
Bertie was predeceased by his wife Judy, daughter Josephine, father Alfred Quewezance, mother Margaret Littlewolfe, sisters; Harriette Quewezance and Mary Ann Quewezance, grandsons; John Cote and Alfred Severight.
He has left to mourn him, his sons; Ellio Quewezance, Enock Quewezance, Montana Matechuck (Katie), Tyrene Cote (Symantha), and Nicholas Ketchemonia. His daughters; Enilda Cote (Jeff), Arval Cote, and Logan Quewezance (Newton). His special niece Ketha, brothers; Tony, Sam, and Andrew, sisters; Lenora Genaille, Annabel Whitehawk, Madeline Whitehawk, Victoria Quewezance, and Alice Queweance. He had many grandchildren too numerous to mention whom he loved and great-grandchildren whom he cherished; Octavias, Montana Jr., Xavier, Scarlytt, Nada-Leigh, Angel, Newton Jr., Nehemiah, Natalie, and Nerah.
