Leonard James Hutchins

Leonard Hutchins of Pelly, Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 79 years on June 21, 2018 at the Norquay Health Centre.

Prayers were held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home.

A funeral service wasl be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 also from the Chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home. 

Interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery in Pelly, Saskatchewan. 

Leonard was born July 29, 1938 on the family farm (SW 32-34-32-W1) Pelly District,  Saskatchewan. He was educated at Maybridge School up to Grade 8. He worked all over Southern Saskatchewan, all the way to Thompson, Manitoba. He hauled lumber to the mines in Esterhazy, Sk and to B.C. In his later years, he was known for working with Cas Broda, Hewitt Getty, his brother-in-law Ed Frank and Frank Hrabchak.

He was married to Barbara Ann Frank on December 17, 1977 at the United Church in Pelly, SK.

He was predeceased by his father Leonard Ambrose Hutchins, mother Minnie Ella Rever, and sister Lidia Jane Hutchins.

He was survived by his spouse Barbara Hutchins, sons Leonard Hutchins (Loan Nguyen) of Edmonton, AB, Ken Hutchins (April Hutchins) of Arran, SK,  Michael Hutchins (Pat Hutchins) of Swift Current, daughters Debbie Popoff (Donald Popoff) of Pelly SK, Sheri Issel (Winston Issel) of Fenwood, SK,  Charlotte Teslak (Billy Teslak) of Homefield, SK, and brother John Hutchins (Marie Hutchins) of Campbell River, BC, grandchildren Andrew Popoff (Brittany Clough) of Pelly, SK, Jessica Darling (Edwin Darling) of Pelly, SK, Diana Popoff of Pelly, SK, Maria Hutchins (Jessie Hanna) of St. Jean Baptiste, MB, Katharine Issel of Fenwood, SK, Billy Hutchins of Arran, SK, Konrad Issel of Fenwood, SK, Kory Issel of Fenwood, SK, Karly Issel of Fenwood, SK, and great grandchildren Ariana Popoff and Jayden Popoff of Pelly, SK.
