Michael Wayne Bryant passed away at the age of 56 years on November 20, 2017 at the Kamsack and District Nursing Home.

A wake was held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from Cote First Nation Band Hall.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 23, 2017  also from The Cote First Nation Band Hall.

Interment followed at the Cote First Nation Cemetery. 

Michael Wayne Bryant is survived by his loving wife Darlene Bryant, siblings Evelyn Lafontaine, Shirley Bryant, James Bryant and Camilla Bryant, special friend/brother Brian (Lil Red) Severight children Sheldon Badger, Amanda (Derek) Badger, Maryanne Bryant, Whitney Badger, Patrick Bird (Precious), Natasha Lynn Keshane (Ralph), Michael Bryant, Michelle Bryant, Jessie Bryant, Floyd Keshane (Tania), Sidney Keshane (Peggy), Angela Desjarlais (Jamie), 39 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Michael was predeceased by parents Mike and Maryanne Bryant, daughter Jodi Badger & one in infancy, siblings Melba Bryant, William Bryant (Joker), Josephine Whitehawk (Dolly) Alvina Bryant (Molly), Alvin Bryant (Bighead), Allan Bryant (Lee), Margaret Rose Bryant, Loretta Bryant, Alfred Bryant, Arthur Bryant.

Michael Wayne Bryant was born June 4, 1961 in Kamsack, SK. to his parents Michel Bryant & Maryanne Severight.  He was raised in Invermay, SK. & Cote First Nation.  He completed his grade 12 and university classes.

He loved to square dance and he competed in many competitions with various Cote groups, he took pride in representing Cote.  He loved playing Poker but not in it to win but to be around people and to make them laugh. He also loved landscaping and made a beautiful yard for his family to enjoy.  He enjoyed playing games such as scrabble and would go to any lengths to win, even studying the scrabble dictionary.  He enjoyed laughing and joking, he was well liked by everyone.  He had a personality that either drew laughter or an argument.

He worked in security, labourer, pipeline and greatest accomplishment was during his council years of negotiating the Pelly Haylands and Cote Legacy Trust.

He will be sadly missed and his greatest saying is “Never Give Up” and “Never Feel Sorry For Yourself”
