Ronald Bellegarde of Ft. Quappelle and formerly of Regina passed away at the age of 71 years on Oct 6, 2017 in Ft. Quappelle SK.
A traditional wake was held on Tuesday, Oct 10, 2017 from the Peepeekisis Pesakastew School at Peepeekisis First Nation.
A funeral service was held on Wedneday, Oct 11, 2017 also from the Peepeekisis Pesakastew School at Peepeekisis First Nation.
Ron was a brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and a friend to many.
Ron was predeceased by his father Louis Bellegarde, mother; Catherine McNabb (nee Daniels), (Noel McNabb), brothers; John (Johnny Bags) Bellegarde, Edison McNabb, Vernon McNabb, Murray McNabb & brother-in-law Dwight Pinay.Big Ron is survived by his son; Robby Star, brothers; Morris Bellegarde (Connie), George McNabb (Carol), Ken McNabb, Dean McNabb, Darwin McNabb (Linda), Stuart “Tex” McNabb (Jennifer), George (Porky) Daniels (Marilyn), Stanley (Jack) Daniels (Darlene), sisters; Karen Delorme (Duane), Sharon Pinay & Muriel Dubois (Harley), sisters-in-law Lisa McNabb & Cynthia McNabb, adopted brother; Gordon Favel, also survived by many relatives and special friends – Gabby Saulteaux, Jerry Sonnier, Jim Pratt & Keith Pratt, members of the Regina Police Services, RCMP, Core Ritchie staff, Regina Pats & Pat Canadians.
Big Ron will be remembered for his willingness to help others in need, his support and devotion to the communities where he lived and visited as well as providing his skills and knowledge to numerous pow-wow committee`s and First Nations in Southern Saskatchewan. He is known for being a kind and very special individual to everyone he came in contact with. `Big Ron` will be lovingly remembered by family and friends wherever they may be.
Ronald is a Little Black Bear first Nation Band Member.
