Victoria Eileen Cote went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2019 in Regina. She was 62 years of age. What a celebration to be had as the Lord and Savior, our mom, great grandparents, and grandparents were waiting to greet her at heaven’s door with open arms.
Vicky was predeceased by her mom Wilma, great grandparents Donald and Fanny Cote, grandparents Wilma and Louie Severight, special aunt Elvina Cote (Big Girl), brothers; Delano, Floyd, Earl, and Arnold, and sisters; Floydine and Earlene.
Vicky is survived by her loving daughter Willene and granddaughter Trinity, son Lenny, sisters; Josephine, Lorna (Albert), Edna, and Wanda (Smitty), special nephews Terry and T.J., special grandson Darrian, special nieces; Carolyn and Holly, nieces; Charmaine, Kerrie, Heather Soop-cote, Heather, Michelle, nephews; Lyndon, Lauren, Jarod, Evan, Steven Clive, Steven, William, and Jeff. Left in her memory are last but not least her grandchildren; Breanne, Brandy, Alyssa, Sofija, Jade, Riley, Teagan, Savannah, Faith, Junior, Colten, Janine, Crystal, Michelle, and Cole, greats; Emily, Elias, Perron, Aiden, and Arnold.
Vicky stated on different occasions in her life, she wanted to be free of pain and suffering. The Good Lord saw her pain and suffering and said it was time to bring another angel home, at which he folded you in his arms and freed you from your pain and suffering.
We cried at your passing and even though we were overcome with grief we couldn’t deny your freedom from pain and suffering, and said our goodbyes. We love you with all our hearts. You are gone, but truly will never be forgotten.
We will miss your spoken in Saulteaux jokes, your singing karaoke, and the stint you had as a member of a local band, your laughter, your kindness, and most of all you.
A traditional wake was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from the Cote First Nation Band Hall.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Oct 9, 2019 also from the Cote First Nation Band Hall.
Interment followed at the Cote First Nation Cemetery.
