On Sunday,August,1,2010, at the age 91, Anne Bodnaryk passed away at the Gateway Lodge in Canora,Sk.
Anne was born on April 11,1918 in Kamsack,Sk.
A funeral service was held on Friday, August 6,2010 from the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home. Fr Patrick Powalinsky was the celebrant. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack,Sk.
Anne will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.She is survived by her younger sister Martha Good of Edmonton, Alberta, and many other close relatives and friends. Anne was pre deceased by her parents Jacob and Mary Bodnaryk, six brothers George, John, Peter, Mike, Nick and Bill (BJ). And one sister Sophie Wosminity (nee Bodnaryk)
Anne was born and grew up at the family homestead a few miles NW of town; she attended and graduated Playmore School before eventually moving east to Toronto. Once there Anne worked for Steadmans and Shell Oil as a secetary until her retirement. Though she lived far away she remained close to those at home returning most Christmas and every harvest until she moved back to Kamsack and the family home to care for B.J several years ago. Anne’s sometimes, fierce dedication and loyality to her family was legendary as was her generous spirit. If you needed a hand, she was the first to arrive sleeves rolled up and the last to leave after everything was done and tidied up, no matter what the task.Anne had a beautiful voice and sang for various church choirs over the years. Her other love was cross-stitch and her work was beautfully crafted, with examples lovingly hungin households across the praires.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Eaglestone and Gateway Lodge staff for the compassionate and loving care they provided for Anne. And a special thanks to Dave,Laureen, Jori and Jerica for being more like family than neighbors to Anne.
