Catherine Trafananko
May 22, 1922 – July 10, 2011
Heaven opened it's Golden Gates to a sweet and most gracious lady, Catherine Marie, better known as “Kay”, on July 10, 2011. Kay exemplified all the wonderful and decent qualities in a human being – love, compassion, generosity, honesty, and above all a dedication to her family and friends. She lived a life filled with wonderful memories of social, line, square, and pattern dancing, music, gardening, and travel. She also took refuge in the simple things in life like bread making, cooking, reading, and fishing.
Kay was born at Bladworth, SK, the youngest of a family of nine. She grew up on the family farm during the years of the depression. She attended a country school and the last two years of high school were completed as a boarder at St. Gabriel's Convent at Lebret, SK. Subsequently she attended Regina Normal School from which she graduated in 1942. After completing courses at University of Saskatchewan she was issued a permanent first class teaching certificate.a
