Douglas was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. Born in Kamsack to Smiley and Missann, he was the 2nd oldest of 6 siblings. He passed away on March 7, 2025 in Cote, Sk and will dearly missed by all.
Doug was a kind hearted and thoughtful man. Growing up, Doug was a great goalie and once brought the Road Runners to the finals and won. He had an knack for drawing and was an exceptional artist to the point of being rewarded a Scholarship in Calgary, AB. Instead, Doug became a father, his proudest accomplishment being with his children whom he loved dearly. Doug also loved his cards and 29-0 record in crib was something he was proud of. Doug loved his games, but he loved his sports even more, being The Pittsburgh Penguins #1 fan. One of his happiest moments was seeing them live in Winnipeg with his son.
He loved his family and was always helping, from farming to cleaning or cooking to help raise his nieces and nephews. Doug was great with children and they loved being with "Uncle Dougie". He always made you feel cared for when he spoke to you. Doug always had a smile on his face when he greeted you. A smile and a presence that will be deeply missed.
Douglas leaves to behind his children; Dalen, Kayla and Lataya, his grandchildren; Ameerah, Yusef, Norris, J.J, Aaliyah, Daisjah and Justin, his mother; Francis (Missann), his brothers; Lawrence, Jason, Michael John (Laura), David (Jessica), Ashley (Shania) and Isaiah, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunties he dearly loved.
Douglas is predeceased by his daughter; Brianna Whitehawk, his father; Michael (Smiley), his sister; Stephanie Whitehawk, his grandparents; Mabel and Leonard (Boychay) Cote, Joyce and Clifford Whitehawk Sr.
