Dymin-Lee Taylor Chase Kakakaway

On June 6, 2026, God called our precious Dymin-Lee Taylor Chase Kakakaway home into eternal rest at the age of 33. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in the promise of everlasting life through our Lord Jesus Christ and know that Dymin-Lee is now embraced in God's loving arms, surrounded by peace, light, and heavenly grace.

Dymin-Lee was born on August 19, 1992, to her loving parents, Shawn Kakakaway and the late Clayton Whitehawk. Dymin-Lee was from Keeseekoose First Nation, Sask, a place she held close to her heart. She was blessed with loving grandparents, the late Jason Kakakaway and Delvina Whitehawk, who shared in giding and supporting her through out her life journey. Education was important to Dymin-Lee. She graduated in 2010 from Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Center and later completed the Educational Assistant Program through SIIT in 2017. She was proud of her accomplishments and dedicated herself to helping others through the works she chose. Throughout her life, Dymin-Lee worked in many caring roles including Educational  Assistant, Family Support Worker, Youth Worker and work within a girls group home. She had a  compassionate heart and naturally cared for those who needed support and encouragement, and understanding.

Dymin-Lee also had a joyful spirit and loved making memories with family and friends. She loved attending concerts and would travel great distances to see the artists she enjoyed. She was a enthusiastic Star Wars fan, and enjoyed the Twilight Saga, she was team Edward. she also enjoyed watching the Blue Jays baseball games and NHL hockey games, experiences that brought her happiness and excitement. As the oldest sibling and the first Grandchild of Edna and John Kakakaway, as well as Mable and Clifford Whitehawk, Dymin-Lee held a very special place within the family. She was known as the perfect big sister- loving, generous, protective and thoughtful. She cherished her siblings deeply and always went above and beyond during birthdays, Christmases, and family gatherings. She gave from the heart and never held back when it came to shoeing love to those she cared about. Above all else, she loved being a mother to her precious son, JOn. He was the greatest blessing in her life and the center of her heart. She shared a special bond with Jon and always wanted the very best for him. Although her earthly journey ended far too soon, the love and guidance Dymin-Lee gave to Jon will continue to live within him forever. Her spirit, strength and love as a mother will always surround him, and through God's grace, that bond will never fade.

Dymin-Lee leaves to mourn her precious son Jon, along with his father, Jonathon Loubert. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her loving mother, Shawn Kakakaway and stepfather Fred Dustyhorn, her loving stepmother, Stephanie (Nolan) , her grandmother, Edna Kakakaway, whom she loved dearly and shared a close bond ,her loving grandfather, Clifford Whitehawk, she also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Justine Kakakaway, Tye-Lee Kakakaway, Clayton Whitehawk (Kiana), Sean Kakakaway, Cole Kakakaway, Payten-Lee Kakakaway, Jayden Kakakaway, Hannah Whitehawk and Sierra Whitehawk, her loving uncles, Denale Kakakaway, Lavern Kakakaway (Terry), Bradley Kakakaway, her loving aunties, Delvina Whitehawk (Clinton), Carla Whitehawk (Derek), Twyla Kakakaway, Rio Whitehawk, her loving nephew Emerson and her nieces, Kennedy and Galadriel.  

Dymin-Lee is predeceased by her father; Clayton Whitehawk, her brother; Eric Whitehawk, her auntie; Donna Mintuck, her uncles; John Kakakaway II, Chandon Kakakawasy, Ashley Kakakaway, and Michael Mintuck, her grandmother; Mable Whitehawk  and her grandfather; John Kakakaway.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  Psalms 34:18
