Elizabeth Achtemichuk Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Elizabeth Achtemichuk of Regina, Sk, formerly from Kamsack. She passed on December 27 at the age of 96. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Remenda, husband Nick Achtemichuk, sister Wasalina Remenda and son-in-law Gus Sanheim. She is survived by her children Irene( Harry) Bogden, Eva Sanheim, Don (Joan) Achtymichuk. Grandchildren Marnel (Tim), Charlene, Clint (Carole), Kurtis (Colleen), Carlita (Garret), Jeffery, Heather (Kelly), Laura (Scott) and Luanne. Great grandchildren Presley, Drew, Cole, Alex(Jon), Libby, Jonny, Mia, Nicholas, Leonardo, and Judah.

Elizabeth was born near Veregin and grew up on a mixed farm. In 1942 she married Nick and they farmed near Rhein, then moved to the Veregin area in 1948 where they raised 3 children and operated a mixed farm. In 1984 they retired and moved to Kamsack. In 2011 she moved to Regina and most recently lived at Parkside Extendicare.

Elizabeth worked hard all her life on the farm milking cows, raising chickens, gardening, and helping her husband with field work. She liked to garden, sew, crochet, cook, bake and travel. In retirement she enjoyed her hobbies, her church, her friends and social life. She liked to entertain and always welcomed her family and friends when they came to visit.
