It is with great sadness that the family of Elmer Lawrence Andrychuk announce his passing on September 27th, 2021 at the age of 83 years. Elmer passed with his loving wife, Betty, by his side.
Elmer was a devoted family man, accomplished businessman, and active member of his community. He owned Andrychuk Funeral Home for over 35 years and was a founding member of the Duck Mountain Ski hill.
Elmer travelled a lot in his lifetime, but his favourite place in the world always remained Madge Lake. Whether he was teaching his son to waterski, entertaining with his wife, or snowmobiling with friends, he was always happiest at the lake. Elmer’s family and friends will always remember him at the lake with a big smile on his face fondly declaring, “now THIS is God’s country.”
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Betty; son, Mark (Terri-Lynn) Andrychuk; granddaughter, Tiana (Austen) Knight; great-grandson, Emmett Knight; sister, Linda Andrychuk; sister-in-law, Roberta Popoff; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Elmer was predeceased by his parents, John and Jennie Andrychuk; siblings, Jerry and Beverly Ann Andrychuk; father and mother-in-law, Fred K. and Helen Popoff; sister-in-law, Valerie Andrychuk; and brothers-in-law, Jake and Harry Popoff.
A funeral service will be held for Elmer on Saturday, October 2 at 2:00 pm from the chapel that Elmer built at Andrychuk Funeral Home in Kamsack with Gwen Reilkoff officiating.
Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Westminster Memorial United Church, Kamsack, Sk.
