Emilie Krystina Steele

Emilie Krystina Steele passed away on March 1, 2019 at the age of 26 years in Saskatoon, SK.

A traditional wake was held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019  from the Yorkton Friendship Centre.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday,  March 6, 2019  also from the Yorkton Friendship Centre.

Interment  followed at the Badger Family Cemetery at  Cote First nation. 

Emilie was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and went to MC Knoll Elementary and graduated from Yorkton Regional High School in 2011. Shortly after, she moved to Saskatoon where she remained until her passing. Emilie was extremely close with all of her siblings. Jodi was the one she went to when she was needed help, she was the “cool” older sister to Louis, and she had biggest soft spot for Hannah, the baby of the family. Emilie was extremely close with her grandparents and was especially spoiled by her grandpa Gene, whom she loved very much.

Most people have one or two best friends, but Emilie had such a big heart that she had several people she considered best friends, especially because of her free spirit. She was never settled in one place for too long, but no matter what, the relationships she would make along the way were incredibly meaningful because she was so open to those around her.
She had a very important role in the lives of Lee Hunt, Leah McNeil, Daisy McGillis and Vanessa Brass. Her honourary parents are Nicole Lafontaine and Calvin Brass because they loved and supported her in her times of need.
Emilie had a gift of making those near her feel important and loved. She also had a tremendous love for animals and the pets she had throughout her life were very important to her. Anywhere she was, her little pug Murphy was usually right at her feet. Emilie was truly one of a kind and she will be remembered for her “crazy” antics, her magnetic spirit, her loud happy laugh, wild sense of humour, and her beautiful soul.

Emmy was predeceased by her Father: Ronald “Ronnie” Badger, Grandparents: Harriet and Hector Badger, Great Grandparents: Lena and Carl Weber, Uncles: Stan Severight, Mike Rurak, Hector “Sonny” Badger
 and Cousins: Robin Badger, April Badger, Brayden Musqua, Christopher Shingoose

Left to mourn are Sisters: Jodi Steele (Dustin) and Hannah Gordon, Brother: Louis Gordon (Eve), Mother: Lori Steele, Aunts: Delores Badger, Darlene Badger, Debra Nabess, Margaret Norris, Krislynn Gellings, Uncle: Steven Badger, Grandparents: Gene and Lynda Holowka, Pets: Murphy, Hudson, and Jones, Niece: Lyndaya and countless other cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family
