The family of Evan Kakakaway announces his passing on July 3, 2022 in Regina at the age of 44 years.
Evan Lyle was born to Dave and Brenda Kakakaway on May 20th at the Kamsack Union Hospital. He was 8lbs, 15 ozs. Evan was a carefree guy who liked telling stories and laughing. He was respectful to family members and he always acknowledged others. He was very protective of those he loved. Evan liked reading books, painting, making dream catchers, Arts & Crafts and beading. Evan was raised by his aunt Lavina Benjoe, he missed her and loved her very much. He always said she was a beautiful woman.
Evan received his Grade 12 (GED) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from there he went on to receive his Level II Cooking. His future plans were to be a cook in one of the mines. With all the struggles, pains, past traumas in his life, he always tried to better himself. The last time his mother and close friend were with him he said that he was wanting a good life and to try to be an advocate for the youth in regards to the drugs and the daily struggles we face. He said he was going church and he enjoyed talking to the church individuals. They listened and helped him on his journey to be well. He said he was not judged by them.
He will be missed dearly by his parents, sisters Jaimee Fiddler, Holly, Tracy, Yvonne Benjoe and brother Aaron Kakakaway, Kirby, Harold Jr., Trent Benjoe and numerous cousins and family.
Evan will be missed by his children; Jett Walker Tootoosis, Keenan, Brooklyn Anne Marie, Aaron, Blue, Kellan and, Beau and Nahla Kakakaway.
He is predeceased by: his brother David James Kakakaway Jr. in 2008, his great grandparents Bill & Agnes Musqua, his grandparents Evelyn & Victor Shingoose, his grandfather Edwin & Therese Kakakaway, his uncle and aunty Lavina & Harold Benjoe.
