Francis Straightnose Obituary

Francis was born in Kamsack on May 13, 1975 to Norman Shingoose and Doris Straightnose. He was the seventh of twelve children. He moved to Thompson at a young age and he was raised by his uncle Reg Shingoose and his mom Patricia Shingoose. While living in Thompson, he met Debbie Mason and they had six children together. They then moved to Saskatoon and raised their beautiful children together there. He loved all his children and grandchildren, holding them dearest to his heart. He would talk about them all the time, cherishing all of their memories. Francis worked numerous jobs throughout his life. He enjoyed listening to Steve Earl and attended few of his concerts which was a big highlight for him. Playing bingo and going to see his brother Ontake while at work and they would go fishing together. He also lived with his brother Ontake, sister in law Lavonne and family in Saskatoon for a while. Francis enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and was known for being the joker of the group. Francis loved to laugh and poke fun at people and had a very crazy sense of humor and always sharing funny crazy stories, with his nieces and nephews. They enjoyed listening and had a good laugh with their uncle Fran. All the memories and laughter shared by Francis will continue to live on in all of us who shared the life of him. 

He will be dearly and sadly missed to all that loved him, dearly.

Francis is survived by his children; Vera (Thomas) Ahenahew, Vanessa (Chris) May, Ian Straightnose, Charles Straightnose (Cailey), his grandchildren; Nadine, Coby, Violet, Ryatt, Daisy, Taron, Kendrik and Isabelle, brothers, Christopher (Ontake) and Lavonne Straightnose, Joseph Straightnose Sr., Norman (Margaret) Straightnose, David (Sherry) Nagel, Reginald (Sherry) Shingoose, sisters; Norma (Larry) Hanson, Mary (Sam) Shingoose, Michelle Shingoose, adopted brother; Stacy Brass , adopted sister Jacelyn Ambrose, special nephew; Nathaniel Straightnose, special uncle Leonard (Toushay) Straightnose, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his grandparents; Joe and Margret Straightnose, Harold and Jean Shingoose,  parents; Norman Shingoose and Doris Straightnose, Patricia Shingoose, uncle Reginald (Moose) Shingoose, brothers; Leslie Straightnose, Harold (Mister) Straightnose, Charles Shingoose, his children; Catherine Straightnose, Darin Straightnose, and his grandchild, Damian Mason.
