Helen Margaret was born on June 28, 1918 at Piapot Reserve, Sk to Morris Henry and Annie Vansoyoc. After losing her mother at childbirth, Helen was raised by uncle and Aunt William and Lila Vansoyoc. They lived in the Melmare District north of Norquay. Helen attended the Arabella School.
Helen married Norman Fetterly from Shell Lake. They farmed for many years. Helen looked after Normans ailing mother until her passing.
Helen and Norman retired to Pelly, Sk. There they enjoyed a large garden and fruit trees, which many neighbors were treated to.
Helen loved to play her electric organ, and also enjoyed reading, pen pals, knitting, tatting, canvas painting and crocheting. She'd get frustrated with her self when things didn't come easy.
She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends, and enjoyed her cousins Edna and Jake from Carrot River, Sk. She always was able to laugh even at her self. She had a good sense of humor.
When Norman passed away, Helen lived on her own for awhile. She then married Dan Dupmeier in 1992.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Norman (1991), her second husband Dan Dupmeier (1994), her brothers Harold and Don, her half sisters Ruby and Phyllis, her half brother Cecil, and her aunt and Uncle William and Lila.
She was admitted to Kamsack and District Nursing Home in December 2002 following an illness, where she resided until her passing.
