Helen Shankowsky

Passed away at the age of 85 years at the Yorkton Regional Hospital.
A visitation was held on Saturday Jan 21,2012 from the Chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home.
A funeral service was held on Saturday January 21,2012, also from the Chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home.
Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery.
She was born July 5, 1926 in the Pelly District to Dan and Lena Hrabchak.
On November 11, 1948 Helen was married to Walter Shankowsky at the family farm south ofPelly. Three children were born of this marriage: Brian (Wendy) ofRegina, Garry (Gwyn) ofPellyand Debby (Bill) Pilot of Regina. She will also be missed by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn her passing her sister Anne Pineault ofKelowna, brother Arnold Hrabchak of Winnipeg. There are also numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband Walter, brother Tony in infancy, brother John Hrabchak ofWinnipegand sisters Mary Makaeff ofWinnipegand Elsie Krawchuk ofTimmins,ON.
When she was able, Helen enjoyed knitting and hosting family and friends for Chirstmas, Easter and family barb-b-ques. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew her.
