Jean was born on March 16, 1941 to John and Margaret Daum (nee Schearer) on the family farm at Calder, SK. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church, Zarra, SK. She attended Golden Jubilee and Calder High Schools. In 1959, she was wed to Archard ( Archie) Giest of Togo. They were blessed with 4 children. They lived in Togo, but most of their lives in Kamsack, where Jean worked for 32 years at the Nursing Home, retiring in 2004.
Jean is survived by her husband; Archie, one son Rodney (Betty), three daughters; Maureen (Lance) McCormick, Roxanne Giest and Lisa ( Darren Neighbours) Knoll, and so dearly loved, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, two brothers; Robert (Frances) Daum and Frank Daum, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
Jean was predeceased by 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
