Our beloved Joanne Prudence Cote, BinaciQuay, was called home to Creator at the age of 54. She begins her journey to her heavenly home she gifts each of us with her most greatest joys, her daughter, Sheila and her grandchildren, Teayonna, Treveor, Darius, DarcyJo and Kaydance (deceased). Joanne is lovingly honored by her mother, Sylvia "BE"Cote, siblings, April Sue (Ray Friday), Joseph Cote(Lil Kenward Southwind brother), and Shannon. Joanne loves her aunties and uncles of her Cote family, Valentino, Vernon, Christopher, Gregory, Rosella and Bonnie.
Joanne is greeted in her heavenly home by her father Arnold "Tootoo Man" Severight and her newborn grand daughter, Kaydence, her maternal grandparent's, Kenneth Earl Cote and Sarah Violet Cote nee Severight, and paternal grandparents Johnny Severight and Abby Grace Cote nee Shingoose. Her aunties and uncles of the Cote family, Kenneth Eric, Kenward Joseph, Curtis Timothy, Earl Kenneth, Victoria Rattlesnake, Cynthia Lou, Peggy, Sonia.
Joanne is a most beautiful gift to her mother and gifted many who knew her with her love and generosity. Joanne's favorite Uncle Greg and her favorite nephew Trey will forever be remembered in a loving way for being Joanne's favorites. Joanne made everyone feel like they were the most special person. She treated everyone equally and gave a helping hand to everyone. When Joanne showed you she cared, you felt the love she gave freely.
In keeping with traditions of her Saulteaux life, she honored this old way and kept her traditional beliefs near her heart. Her Brother Stanley Joseph told his mom, "I am keeping my sisters fire going until we are done honoring her." He lit her sacred fire at Sylvia Cote's home and has been lit for fives days and will let it go out when we finish honoring his sister. Today, we thank the firekeepers for guiding Joanne the Wanderer home to Creator. Auntie Rosella affectionately calls her the Wanderer and so we thank Stanley Joseph for lighting her sacred fire giving her our blessing to Wander to her new home with our heavenly Creator.
On behalf of Joann's mother, daughter and grandchildren, we thank everyone for their prayers and support. We honor you and thank you for being in our Joanne's life.
