John James George Quewezance passed away on July 12, 2025 at the Regina General Hospital.
John graduated from Keeseekoose Chiefs Educational Center. He completed his requirements for his Bachelor of Indigenous Studies, majoring in Health. He worked at the Keeseekoose Hope Haven Healing Home, Phoenix House in Regina and with YTC ICF.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother; Cheryl Quewezance of Keeseekoose First Nation, his siblings; Alvin (Lenora) Quewezance, Kelly (Tammara) Quewezance, Ashley (Joe) Straightnose and Raven (Waylon) Quewezance. He also leaves to mourn, his grandpa; George "Moose" Keewatin, his special uncles; Ken (Tina) Keewatin, Chottie (Sheila) Keewatin, Terry (Natalie) Keewatin and Cory Keewatin. John also leaves to mourn his special uncle; Georgie Quewezance, his aunts; Grace Keepness and Wanda Laughren, his special nieces; Lilyanna Quewezance, Kaesee Keshane, Summer Straightnose, Amirah Quewezance, Hazel Quewezance and Lainey McNab, his special nephews; Baby Joe Straightnose, Philip Straightnose, Phoenix Straightnose, and Kaysen Quewezance.
John is predeceased by his father; Philip Antoine Quewezance, grandparents; Grace Quewezance, Johnny "Buckle" Quewezance, Martha Keewatin, great grandparents; Joe Genaille, Annie "Na Nah Way" Keewatin, Malcom Tourangeau, and Rose Thorn, uncles; Joseph "Bumpy" Quewezance, John James Quewezance, his brother; Billy Joe Quewezance and special nephew Desmond Straightnose. A special acknowledgment going out to his godmother; Yvette Iron of Canoe Lake, SK. The family would also like to acknowledge special family, friends, aunts, uncles and cousins too many to mention who knew and loved John.
