Joseph. L .Quewezance Passed away on July 24, 2010 at the Kamsack Hospital in Kamsack, SK, at the age of 54 years. Joseph was born on March 3, 1956 in Kamsack, Sk.
Traditional wake was held on July 27, 2010 at the Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Complex at Keeseekoose First Nations.
Funeral Mass was held on July 28, 2010 at the St Philips Roman Catholic Church, with Interment following at the St Philips Parish Cemetery. Fr Vitalis Azike was the Officiant for this Funeral Mass.
Pall bears where, Alvin Tourangeau, Laurie Tourangeau, John Quewezance, George Quewezance, Kelly Quewezance, Alvin Quewezance, Cory Keewatin and Shylo Stevenson.
Joseph attended school at the Lebret Residential School, then Miller High School, and eventually attended University in Saskatoon. During his life Joseph did Carpentry, worked as a painter, a laborer as well as various other jobs throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
Leaving to cherish his memory are his Aunty Harriet Foy of Saskatoon, brothers Philip Quewezance of Keeseekoose, John James Quewezance of Cote, sisters Grace Keepness of Pasqua and Wanda Sawitsky of Blaine Lake, grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Joseph was predeceased by his Mother Grace Quewezance, his father Joe (Mizay) Quewezance, grandparents Malcolm and Rose Tourangeau, Rose Shingoose, Bryce Tourangeau, Malcolm Tourangeau, Alice Shingoose, George Tourangeau, brother Wayne Quewezance,nephew Lionel Keepness, Billy Joe Quewezance, Grandson Desmond Rae Straightnose.
