Kenneth Samuel Chernoff

Ken was born in Kamsack and raised on the family farm near Runnymede, where the motto "Hard Work = Success" was instilled early in life. 

Education was important and it followed him during his lifetime. After graduation, he went on to university in Saskatoon where he earned two degrees, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce. His intelligence and a quest for learning followed him all his life. He took many vacations and even went backpacking in Europe.

He had two brief jobs in Kamsack after university graduation, at the Administration Office in the Kamsack Hospital and  Manager at the Co-op gas station. He then spread his wings and moved to Calgary where he worked for cousins Dale and Fred Chernoff as bookkeeper at the Speedy Brake and Apollo Muffler Corporation, until his diagnosis of MS at the age 30. He worked until he couldn't manage anymore, moved back home for a period of time, then tried living in Saskatoon and then back to Calgary where he lived somewhat independently and then moved to a care facility called the Fanning Center and then on to Nickel House, a private care home. 

In 2005, Ken wanted to move home. We placed him into long term care at the hospital and then moved him into the Kamsack Nursing Home where he's been for the last 15 years.

Ken is predeceased by his parents; Sam and Hazel, his brother; Don, sister in law; Kerry Chernoff and brother in law; Ralph Cuervo.

Ken is survived by his nephews; Clinton, Trevor (Kim), and Darcy (Carleigh), Chernoff, and their families, sister; Debbie Cuervo, her children, Amber (Denby) and Curtis (Melissa), Ambers girls,  Lauren, Hannah and Kiisihs, brother in law; Al Roll as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
