Suddenly on Saturday, January 22, 2011, Our father Keno James Wapash Sr. has left us to join Mother Earth. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 1, 1955. He lived most of his life in Calgary,Alberta and then moved to Edmonton. He worked hard throughout his life and made the best out of it. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with his grandsons and spoiling his grand-daughters. He was always one to joke around and make the best out of every situation. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, Recently he was reunited with his eldest daughter Carmen, his time came too soon to meet her. He will be missed dearly. He may be gone but his love, laugh and smile will always be forever in our hearts.
He was predeceased by his mother, Josephine. Sisters, Linda, Lorna, Carrie. Brothers: Joe, Peter & Darrel.
He leaves to mourn, daughters: Carmen (Yves), Melissa (Danny), Jackie (Jodie).
Sons, Keno Jr. , Lionel (Sunora), Tony (Bianca) , Clayton (Denean)
Grandchildren: Alex, Dorian, Mya, Isabelle, Corey, Hailey, Emma, Riley, Rain, Braidin, Summer, Austin, Easton, Tamika, Kodan, Harlem, Stormy, Maria and Kaleb.
Brothers: Wayne (Ashley), Jarvis
Sisters: Wanda, Deanna (Clayton) Badger
and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews
Pallbearers: Lavern Kakakaway, Bradley Kakakaway, Chuck Wapash, Jarvis Wapash, Perry Wapash, Wayne Wapach
Honourary Pallbearers: Alex Abaunza, Dorian Wapash-Neal, Riley Gajausky, Braidin Wapash
A wake was held on January 28,2011 at the Keeseekoose Band Hall, with a Funeral being held on January 29,2011 also from the Keeseekoose Band Hall. Interment followed at the Keeseekoose Traditional Cemetery.
