Laura Chernenkoff (nee Popoff)

Passed away on April 5,2011 at the age of 96 years in Regina, SK. A funeral service was held on April 12,2011 from the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home with The Rev. Frances Patterson officiating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack.
Laura was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on November 5, 1914 to Mabel and Alex Popoff. She grew up on a farm near Mikado with her mother, two brothers and one sister.
Laura married Alex Chernenkoff from Pelly, SK. They would move to a farm east of Pelly, where they raised their four children. Laura and Alex farmed until retirement and then moved into the town of Pelly. After Alex passed away, Laura moved to Grenfell.
Laura loved to knit and visit with friends and family.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Allen of Kitchener, ON, Lil (Delmer) Chutskoff of Grenfell, SK, and Irene (Dave) Wozniak of Glenavon, SK. She will also be missed by 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Laura also leaves to cherish fond memories her brother John Popoff , her sister Mary Nicholodoff and sister-in-law Mary Berikoff.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, husband Alex, son Joe, brother Alex Popoff and grandson Al Chutskoff.
