It is great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Laurissa Cote on July 31, 2024.
Laurissa was born on September 9, 1975 in Kamsack, SK to Linda Cote. She was raised in various places throughout her life, but always called Cote home, which is where she resided until her passing. Laurissa was very much a free spirit, she was the life of the party and could lighten a room with her jokes and laughter no matter the situation at hand. Laurissa was also a little fire cracker, ready to protect her kin at all times. "Mustang Sally" was one of her favorite sayings to describe her persona she would take on when she had to regulate a situation.
Laurissa had many hobbies and passions she enjoyed throughout her life. She was an avid square dancer and danced many years with the Cote Cloggers. She loved music and seemed to find healing in it. Often blasting her tunes loudly inside her home she called her "Castle". She loved fashion and always made sure a piece, if not the whole outfit made her stand out. Changing her outfits 5 times before leaving the house just to go back to the first outfit she tried on. Laurissa loved collecting trinkets and nick knacks, proudly diplaying them in an organized cluttered fashion. She loved golfing and cats, any stray that would come by would be fed by her.
Laurissa became a mother at 21 years old and was a natural at it, so loving and proud. This was attributed by he earlier years tending to her nieces and nephews making their childhoods fun and memorable with the countless games and funny conversations. She would even play man tracker with them and would win. She was known to them as Aunty DaDa. Laurissa cherished her grandchildren very much and always had a cute and cheeky way of talking to them.
Laurissa is survived by her children; Rylan (Veronica), Brayden (Angel), Linda "Amber", Anna-Lee, and Adrianna, her grandchildren; Greyson, JJ, Hudson, Aaliyah, special nephew Ethan "her handsome", her loving mother/aunty Martha, sibling; Rodney, Jarron, Twyla (Chris), Phoebe (Ashley), Tanya, Shelley, adopted sister; Chrissy D,
Johnny Rockthunder Family, aunty; Emily, uncles; Frank, Lambert (Corrine), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Laurissa is predeceased by her parents; Linda Cote and Johnny Rockthunder, grandmother; Edith Cote, grandfather; Charles, uncles; Ronald, Keith, Blair, sister; Floydine.
Laurissa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
