It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Straightnose, who left us on February 23, 2026.
Leonard was born in Kamsack, Sk and spent his life working as a carpenter, and loved sports. He was known for his kindness/strength/humor/wisdom and his story telling. A person never heard the same story twice. His presence brought comfort/laughter/guidance to everyone who knew him. Above all, he was a devoted Dad/Brother/Grandfather/Uncle. He leaves behind family who will forever cherish his love, lessons, and the memories shared. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
Leonard is survived by his siblings; William (Darlene) Straightnose, Ralph Straightnose, Wally Straightnose, Elizabeth Still, Gladys Quewezance (Ted), children; Leroy Whitehawk, Lillian Ironstand (Marvin), Sandi Ironstand (Norman), Forbes Ironstand (Lee Anne), Ron Cote (Delores), raised; Harold "Mister" Straightnose, Chris "Ontake" Straightnose(Lavonne), Norman "Pitchaw" Straightnose (Margaret), special nephew; Vernon "Buddy" Keshane, grandpa's Bobuts; Jared Ironstand, special granddaughters; Rhonda Ironstand, Talia Straightnose, Stephanie Keshne and Rosina Whitehawk. Leonard was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren's work ethic and powwow dancing, as well as numerous family and friends.
