It is with great sadness that Les Hilton has entered into eternal rest on January 4, 2026 at the age of 78 years.
Les Hilton was born to Markland and Martha Hilton in Kamsack, Saskatchewan in March of 1947. He was the third child of six which included Garnet, Doug, Daryl, Darlene and Vernon. Les met his wife in the winter of 1964. He bet his cousin, Lawrence Lesser, a nickel that he could convince Sylvia to go on a date with him and the rest is history. They were married on June 29, 1968. Shortly after their first child, Ronda was born in December, 1968. Followed by Tracy in July, 1971 and Cynthia in October of 1973. During his life Les worked for Canadian National Railway (1966-1996) and retired as a conductor locomotive operator. In his retirement Les and his wife traveled extensively seeing Canada from the East to West coast, a good portion of the United States and were snow birds in Texas for around 20 years.
Les enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, bullet reloading, quad riding, target shooting, coin collecting, traveling and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Les leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Sylvia, his daughters Ronda (Kirby), Tracy (Rob), Cynthia (Sean) and his three grandchildren Tyson and Shiann Lasko and Nairn Patterson as well as a brother, Vernon Hilton and sister, Darlene Spelrum along with many nieces and nephews.
Les was predeceased by his father Mark Hilton, his mother Martha Hilton, brothers Daryl, Garnet and Doug Hilton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Les's memory can be made to the Kamsack Branch of the Canadian Legion.
