Mary Derkatch

Our dear mother Mary was born in the Rhien District on the 31st day August 1925 to Polly and Sidney Blydo. She was raised in the Luzen District where she attended school.
After school was done, she worked as a housekeeper until she met and married Walter, our father. They were married on the 2nd day of November 1944. They moved to a farm in the Playmore area where they farmed until 1997. After our Dad’s passing she moved to Churchbridge, Sk.to be closer to family and friends. She loved the garden and her animals and missed them alot.
She went to be with the Lord on the 16th day of May 2010 at age 84.
She is survived by two brothers, John(Elaine) of Castlegar BC, and Bill (Kay) of Swift Current,Sk. Also a son and two daughters; Ron(Sharon) of Churchbridge, Phylis (Gary) Klewchuk of Edson, AB and Val(Greg) Simpson of Regina. Seven grandchildren;Colleen Derkatch of Yorkton, Paul Derkatch of Winnipeg, Samuel Derkatch of Yorkton, Gabe Klewchuk of Edson,AB, Danica Klewchuk of Edmonton,AB, Ryan and Thomas Simpson of Regina. She also has two great grandchildren Noah and Grace Derkatch of Winnipeg.
She was our mother, baba, and grandma and did the best she could. Her work is done and will be missed a lot. We rejoice in the fact that we will see her again in the resurrection!
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 21,2010 at Andrychuk Funeral Home Chapel in Kamsack with Pastor Ken Dressler officating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice
