It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Kinaschuk announces her passing on Sept 28, 2010 at the age of 86 years in Prince Albert, SK. A funeral service was held on Oct 8, 2010 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Norquay, SK with Fr. Basil Malowany Officiating. Interment followed at the Pelly Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
Our Mom ,Baba,Little Baba quietly left us on September 28,2010 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert,Saskatchewan.
Mary Kinaschuk (Dykun) was born May 7,1924 in the poplar Bluff District North of Arran, Sask. Mary took her schooling at Evandale School, than went to work as chore hand, baby sitter for her sisters than to Dauphin, Manitoba, when came along her best friend, soul mate Dan Kinaschuk.
Mary & Demko were married on November 22, 1946. They farmed in the Poplar Bluff District North of Arran, Sask. They were blessed with five children; Mary enjoyed farming, gardening, berry & mushroom picking. In 1973 they moved into the Village of Pelly on acreage on Mill Hill. She enjoyed their large garden, their children and grandchildren visits.
Winter became her hobby time with quilting, cross-stitching, and doing search words. In 1989 Dan passed away. Mary sold and moved into the Village of Pelly in 1990. She continued her hobbies and did more traveling with her children visiting grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 2004 Mary decided it was time for a change, she moved to Paddockwood, Sask.were she continued living on her own & enjoyed her independence, hobbies and visits.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Paul and Mary Dykun, her grandson Shane in 1970, Husband Demko in 1989, Daughter Sylvia in 2010, her sisters and brother in laws. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Rose(Eugene)Medwid,Dmytro(Hazel)Kinaschuk,Russel Medwid(son in law), Verna (Robert) Kabatoff, Elaine(Leon)Esopenko, her 16 grandchildren, also two sisters Nellie Wasylniuk and Jennie Tomenchuk and numerous nieces and nephews.
