Metro "Jim" Kinaschuk of Benito, Manitoba and formerly of Arran, SK passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 92 years.
Metro (Jim) was born in the Arran District on May 27, 1929 to Demko and Annie (nee Hydamaka) Kinaschuk.
Dad grew up on the family farm North of Arran and took the farm over. August of 1952 dad married Annie Prystay and together they were blessed with four children. In 1983, they sold the farm, retired and moved to Arran. While in Arran, dad worked for the R. M. of Livingston and as a Town Councilor.
When he was not working, he valued his time being with his children and grandchildren. In 2011 they moved to Benito, MB where they continue to enjoy the company of family and friends.
Metro (Jim) was predeceased by his parents, Demko and Annie Kinaschuk; his son, Dennis and grandson, Jason Kinaschuk.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annie of 69 years; daughters, Dianne (David) Panagabko, Eldeen (Elmer) Dorosh and son, Rick (Lenore) Kinaschuk. His sisters, Minnie Martynluk of Flin Flon, MB and Rose (Dennis) Hovey of Salmon Arm, BC; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Prayers will be offered on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 7:00 pm from the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home in Kamsack.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated for Metro on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:00 am from St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kamsack with Fr Joakim Rac officiating. The liturgy will be livestreamed from Andrychuk's Facebook page.
Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
In accordance with current Covid restrictions, all are welcome to attend all services.
