It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Nathan “Rikishi’ Pelly announce his passing on June 19th, 2022 at the age of 34 years. Nathan was a world champion powwow singer, artist and was loved and adored by so many across Turtle Island. His gift was his music and his contagious laughter, and we were truly blessed by his good medicine during his time on earth.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents; Donna Pelly (Dennis), Conrad Gardypie (Melanie); his brothers Dallas Pelly (Shalisse), Connor Gardypie, and his adopted brother Ryley Gardypie; his sisters Maycie, Maliyah and Hope Gardypie; Grandmother Myrtle Gardypie; his nephews Oaklen, Emmett & Denver Pelly. He is also survived by his special friends Raven Wood, Kalie Ekomiak and adopted daughter Nuliajuk; his maternal Uncles and Aunties; Arnold Pelly (Sherry), Linda Pelly (Eric), Judy Pelly, Margaret Chrusch, Josephine Pelly, Stella Pelly (Vincent), Lawrence Pelly, Sharon Pelly (Ross), Terry Pelly; paternal Uncles and Aunties; Rodney “Chip” Gardypie, Deborah Kim Gardypie, Anita Gardypie (Clayton), Trevor “Boss” Gardypie, Darwin Gardypie (Patricia), Darren Gardypie (Rebecca), Laverne Laliberte, Sheila Sylvester; Numerous Cousins, nieces and nephews and everyone he knew and loved.
Nathan is predeceased by his brother Ethan Gardypie, maternal grandparents Pauline & Joseph Pelly Sr; paternal grandfather Hilliard Gardypie. Uncles Lloyd Brass and Joseph Pelly Jr.
