Nico Darren Gilbert Kakakaway

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Nico Kakakaway announce his sudden passing on March 28, 2026 at the age of 20 years.

Nico grew up loving all styles of music, he had an old soul for it. Everywhere Nico went or traveled, he was loved by all who he met. Through his travels, he met a lot of people in different countries. He had a spirit about him that made friends easily and left an everlasting impression. Nico was loved by all he met.

Nico is survived by his parents; Sarah and Edgar Kakakaway, brother Telesphore Wapash (son Zaiden) and brother Edgar Kakakaway Jr (son Ellison), sisters; Tivonne Wapash and Sauvonne Kakakaway, uncles; Bernard Kakakaway, Mallory Kakakaway (Jr), Leonard Wapash (Tushi), Percival Wapash, Johnny Wapash, his extended family; Chief Alvin Musqua Jr and his family, as well as numerous family and friends.

Nico is predeceased by his grandparents; Robert Quewezance and Charlene Keshane, Leonard Wapash Sr. (Babash), his girlfriend; Sierra Christina Pelly, uncles; Victor Wapash, Vernon Wapash, Robert Strongquill, aunts; Sharon Wapash, Sonia Wapash, Anita Wapash, Crystal Wapash, Marcy Kakakaway. 

Nico will be forever loved and missed.
