Polly Kinakin (nee Vanin)

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Polly Kinakin of Benito, MB, on June 7, 2011 at the age of 93 in Dauphin, MB.
She was born in British Columbia, and then came to live in Saskatchewan.
She is going to be sadly missed by her daughters Margaret Popoff, Annette (Norman) Almer, Frances Letwiniuk and (Lloyd St Germain); grandchildren Kathy Tannis, Michael, Dale, Theresa, Barbara, Brenda, Cheryl &Nick and many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by father Eli Vanin in 1963, her mother Tena Vanin in 1989, and her son Thomas Kinakin in 1985, husband John Kinakin in1987, her daughter Natalia Sapach in 2001. Brothers Fred Vanin in 1980, Walter Vanin in 2010 and Nick Vanin in 2010, grandson Brain Popoff in 2008.
Polly went to school at Podolia. Then went to work in Swan River for a few summers. Later she met John Kinakin and got married and had five children. She lived just about all her life on a farm with John and raised all her children.
In the summer months you could find Polly in her garden which was her passion and canning was a very busy time. In later years of retirement she moved to Benito. Her best hobby was sewing blankets which she gave away to her children and grandchildren.
A prayer service was held from the Andrychuk Funeral Home Chapel at 7.00 pm on Friday, June 10,2011
A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 11,2011 at 10.00 am from the Andrychuk Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed at the Peaceful Cove Cemetery, East of Pelly.
