Vanessa Ann Brass passed away at the age of 40 years on August 15, 2019.
A wake was held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from the Cote First Nation Band Hall.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 also from the Cote First Nation Band Hall.
Interment followed at the Yorkton City Cemetery.
Vanessa was born in Edmonton, Alberta to parents; Kelly Brazeau and Ruth Brass.
Growing up Vanessa was really good at math and was very good with money. In school she played the saxophone and was very outgoing. Her confident and vibrant personality made it easy to sweet talk people and make friends. In her late teens she moved to Regina, SK, where she resided for most of her 20’s. She spent the last fifteen years creating memorable family and friends in the Kamsack area.
Vanessa was a loving mother who cherished her children and did her best by them. Her children would describe her as a funny, caring and an amazing mother, whom we will miss so very much.
Vanessa is survived by her partner; Collin Musqua, children; Maleysia, Frankie and Maikayla Brass, Teagan and Arrow Manitopyes, step-children; Aaron Bryant and Darrel Whitehawk Jr, grandchildren; Amuria Wolfe and Mason Bryant, siblings; Kelly and Derreck Brass (Mary), special nieces; Briaje and Vierrah Cadotte, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Vanessa is predeceased by; maternal grandmother; Wilma Brass and paternal grandmother; Annie Brazeau, father; Kelly Brazeau, mother; Ruth Brass, siblings; Alicia and Lawrence Brass, aunty; Flossy Brass, her first husband; Gerald Manitopyes and previous partner; Darryl Whitehawk.
